About us – the story of Horse Haytec
Within our family’s time with horses, we encountered a common problem: our horses couldn’t handle being on ‘free hay’ and got stressed over inconsistent feeding times. As a solution, we developed an automatic hay feeder that ensures the horses receive regular hay in a species-appropriate manner.
How to support the horses’ species-appropriate grazing rhythm?
Facing health challenges with our horses, we sought solutions suitable for all our family’s equine companions. Given the demanding schedules of our family, feeding the horses every three hours wasn’t feasible. So, we joined forces to explore alternative approaches.
“Combining the family’s passion for horses with Reino’s professional expertise in engineering, we embarked on an intriguing journey. The development of our solutions is based on over 30 years of machine engineering experience and understanding the species-specific needs of horses.”
From these needs emerged the Haymatic® automatic hay feeder.
Species-appropriate horse care close to our hearts
Positive experiences in streamlining our own yard routine sparked an interest in commercialising our developed solutions and extending assistance to other yard owners grappling with similar challenges. The well-being of horses and adhering to their species-appropriate care are close to our hearts.
Our approach has always been rooted in understanding the natural needs of horses, ensuring user safety, and creating a hay feeder that is durable. All horse people recognize the significant time investment of hay feeding in our daily life — and, on the other hand, the horse’s need for regular feeding intervals.
The experiences at our own yard have been encouraging. It has been wonderful to witness our own horses thriving and improving in health after the implementation of the automatic hay feeder. And how delightful it has been to bid farewell to the daily chore of feeding the hay yourself to each horse!
We have experienced and witnessed how the hay feeder has eased both our own and our customers’ daily routines and brought added well-being to the horses.
Our Mission
Our goal is to support horse people in the physically and mentally demanding world of equine care and in the everyday life of horse owners.
At Horse Haytec, we believe that the success of a horse-related business hinges on the well-being of both the horses and the people working within the company. The Haymatic®️ automatic hay feeder is an investment in both: its positive impacts are evident in your daily life in numerous ways.
A healthy horse fosters well-being in people, and vice versa. We aim to strengthen this positive cycle.
Our motto is to ease the daily lives of horse enthusiasts and enhance the well-being of horses.
